As long as I can remember I have drawn inspiration from and felt most myself at home. Travel has taught me a lot about the world and, despite my core skepticism, reinforced my belief in the essential goodness of humanity.  I also find a great deal of inspiration in the studio where I put together my interior design projects. Yet coming back to the stone cottage in the woods where my husband and I have made our home for more than twenty years settles my soul like nothing else.

 

I think a lot of us feel this way about the spaces we make for working and living. My curiosity about how other people shape their environments to reflect their values and passions, as well as how they are shaped by those spaces in turn, is explored here in vignettes, short stories, and interviews.
